Re: I forgot

Hee! I figured it was you. I was reading some of the reviews on a couple of mebh's stories recently, and saw you comment that I had converted you to Royai. (With "Apotheosis" or something, wasn't it?) So when you made that same comment here, I thought, "Aha! I bet that's the same person." :-)

Meanwhile, thanks for your comments here. I agree with you about the bittersweet feeling at the end. It would be so hard to know what to do, in Roy's circumstances. Of course, Roy being Roy and always thinking of the wellbeing of others, he would try to do what was best, in the long run, for Riza and the kids too.

And I could imagine Riza facing the bittersweet consequences of her own insistence on getting fifteen or twenty years from him (and ultimately twenty-five). She would know that this was likely best, and would probably feel some relief and at the same time feel sorrow. And really -- who wouldn't want always to be with the dear young man they married, completely unchanged?

This was the only way I could think of that both of them could face their different futures with any sort of acceptance and equilibrium. But that moment of breaking away would be extremely hard.

Anyway, thanks for writing!
